Blackboard: Groups

Overview:

In this workshop, you learn to facilitate collaboration among students by setting up groups. In Blackboard Learn, groups can have their own discussion board, blog, journals, and wikis. Group members can exchange documents, submit group assignments, send email to other group members, and distribute tasks to keep the group on track.

Workshop Objectives:

By the end of this workshop, attendees will be able to:

  • Create and edit groups
  • Choose group communication tools
  • Add members to groups
  • Use Student Preview to view group tools as a student
  • Use groups for Smart Views in the Grade Center
  • Establish best practice expectations for student participation
  • Share ideas about using groups and group tools in Blackboard courses

If this session date does not work out for your schedule, we would be happy to set up a one-on-one deskside consulting session, or even a customized departmental workshop. Details on how to request these are found on http://technology.ku.edu/training
