BudCast - Advanced Operating Plan

What you will learn:

By the end of class, attendees will understand how to work within the BudCast Operating Plan - Version Salary Projection to plan departmental salary expenses. This class will provide an in depth view of the Projection Fund Management report and the Salary Fund Management report. Attendees will be given the opportunity to work within BudCast with instructor assistance so that real-world applications can be understood and practiced.

Course objectives:   

By the end of this course, attendees will be able to:

  • Perform basic navigational functions within the Operating Plan - Version Salary Projection.
  • Forecast salary spending at the position and pay period level, and understand the effects of those forecasts in BudCast reports.
  • Perform 'Adjustments'.
  • Understand the Projection Fund Management and Salary Fund Management reports.
  • Recognize the manner in which the Version Budget shares data with the Version Salary Projection.

Staff members must have been granted access to the BudCast - Operating Plan module before attending this class. Access forms can be found here.

Prior completion of the workshop 'BudCast - Basic Operating Plan' is required to attend this course, or the user must have a thorough understanding of general BudCast navigation and the Operating Plan- Version Budget.

Users will need to have working knowledge of the University's budgets and should understand terms such as ARSP, positions, pools, OOE, forecasts, projections, budget transfers, etc. before attending this class.
